This is Daisy, a 7yr old Australian cattle dog, "employee" here at Rusty's Morningstar Ranch and she needs your help

We consider Daisy an employee as she has learned how to de-escalate behaviors, protect our members from harm such as snakes or wild animals on hikes, detect pre-seizure activity, and she truly is a protector/therapy dog.

Why does Daisy need your help

In July of 2024, Daisy was diagnosed with a large ocular tumor which has been progressively growing. Our first canine ophthalmologist pushed us off for over a year repeatedly delaying surgical intervention which caused the tumor to enlarge. We opted for a second opinion and this vet discovered that Daisy's tumor is a limbal melanoma that is now large enough it is at significant risk of retinal detachment and vision loss. This vet is willing to attempt a very risky surgery to resect the tumor and perform a corneal graft. Without this surgery, it isn't a matter of if she loses her eye, it is a matter of when.

Her surgery is scheduled for December 2nd and we will close this drawing November 15th at noon MST.
